Based in London, French photographer Valérie Sadoun has developed a practice that depicts modernist and contemporary landmarks, 1970s interiors, Japanese and European design, capturing buildings and their creators.

Her approach has led her to photographing a wide variety of subjects including the masterpieces of Renée Gailhoustet, Ricardo Bofill and Antti Lovag as well as more vernacular architecture.

Sadoun’s work is both documentary and formal and aims to reveal the interplay of texture, detail and light, communicating both the scale of her subjects and the personality built into the artifice.

She brings this approach to immortalising movie sets, most notably Wes Anderson’s, blurring the distinction between reality and fiction.
